May 8th, 2008how to lose weight and get buff
May 8th, 2008From my own experience I discovered that the best way to lose weight and pack up some muscles (like any chubby man should do) is to compete with a weight-lifting woman.
I know that after two push-ups I start to breathe heavily, after 10 I’m beat … and that’s about to change soon (but not too soon because I’m lazy).
The woman started to do some push-ups … she did one … two … ten … twenty … 60 … 80 … 100 …
As far as I know, nothing hurts the male ego more then a woman doing something that he “should” do but “can’t”.
So I’m going to replace the fat with muscles.
And for those that ask themselves if “fat is heavier then muscle”, the answer is of couse no … because 1 kg of fat weighs as much as 1 kg of muscle. Muscle is more compact then fat and occupies less space for the same weight, and maybe that’s why there’s the illusion of weight difference.
That’s it, good luck with the push-ups and jogging. Let’s show them who really wears the pants !!

tags
May 8th, 2008(this is a post from Piry’s drafts … so it’s very likely it’s incredibly incoherent, being written piece by piece at different times)
I never liked the tags concept. In my time there were keywords.
As far as I read and understood, these “tags” are used to define an article or a product. I still can’t see the difference between tags and keywords. But maybe I’m just blind, so let’s move on.
In the wonderful world of blogging, tags are used to present in general what the post is about … like “cats, tv, web, haha” … and a tagcloud is used to display the tags … I noticed that usually there are few and very general.
Again, I can’t see why you shouldn’t use keywords to define your article.
Actually tags seem to be second categories (although nobody keeps you from creating more categories and even subcategories in which you can place your post), which again pop the question “Why should I use tags ?“.
I intend not to use tags on my blogs, because a thing called search does exist, categories exist … tags would only help google a little, but a keyword list would help it more.
This seems like a web 2.0 trend (which is also a trend), completely useless (the same as the 2.0 “Beta” icons), when something much better exists, named keywords.
The problem is that by using keywords as tags, bloggers (the scum of the earth) rise up to tell you that you don’t know how to use tags and you’re a loser. But that’s usually fixed with a visit to their lovely homes, with a bat.

Youtube quality
April 22nd, 2008I wasn’t really in the mood to write these days … and I still ain’t.
But still, I can say that today I noticed that on YouTube a new icon appeared …

I’m glad to see they finally added the High Quality option, because many videos on YouTube are pathetic on fullscreen mode.
